About Abandon the Midwest:    One of the most promising acts in the Florida underground/punk scene is Orlando’s ABANDON THE MIDWEST.   The 4-piece, formed in 2011 under the tutelage of singer/guitarist Matt Harmon, has been garnering a lot of attention locally after being signed to Rah Rah Rah Records, the label owned and operated by hometown heroes The Supervillains. The ‘Villains took it a step further, personally producing and recording ATM’s upcoming EP “Scared Stupid” at bassist Dan Grundorf’s home studio. “Abandon The Midwest really reminds us of the punk rock attitude that we built our own band’s foundation on, and as catchy as their songs are it was really a no-brainer for us to get behind them,” says Supervillains’ drummer/vocalist Dom Maresco. In addition to being the ‘Villains go-to support act, ATM has recently opened for national acts (Guttermouth, Creepshow) and has been begun to serve its growing fan base with local headlining shows. With most songs shorter than a movie trailer and consisting of common interests (cigarettes, vinyl, cheap beer, zombie apocalypse), Abandon The Midwest’s fast-paced live shows are becoming sweatier and more and more packed as word continues to get out about one of Central Florida’s hottest bands.
